Myrtle Beach Memorial 2023
Thanks to the excellent support received from the Memorial’s Top-Secret Emergency Bunker HQ, the 2023 Memorial will proceed as scheduled, but with some logistical changes. Apparently, the Emergency HQ Bunker is regularly staffed by the defending Champion as the back-up Reservations Director (never having been in that position, I wouldn’t know), but thanks to Dan Luciew for taking his duties seriously. Please read below carefully, and respond as needed.
New Package & Accommodations
We will be staying at Bali Bay Resort, located at 701 S. Ocean Blvd at 7 Ave S (for comparison, the Breakers is at 21st Ave N, so we’re 28 blocks South, and probably will have a good view of the planes coming and going at the Airport). Bali Bay is a building with 21 condos of assorted sizes, we have five 2-bedroom condos, five 3-bedroom condos, and one 7-bedroom condo, so we can have up to up to 32 people, but may have to drop a condo or two depending on how many people actually end up going. The Package Price is $1140 and includes: 6 nights (check-in Sun 3/26, check-out Sat 4/1), 5 rounds of golf (see below), and lunch each day at the courses plus 2 beers (or some other beverage).
Payment
If you are one of the 30 people confirmed for the 2023 Memorial, you must pay for the package on-line through the “Myrtle Beach Golf App powered by Golf Trek”; the price is $1140.33, the Package Number is 41716. You need to: download the App, create a login, go to “My Packages”, enter the Package Number, pay with credit card. Dan L. has helpfully created remedial, idiot-proof, step-by-step instructions, complete with pictures, which are attached to the email.
Payments are due no later than Friday, Feb 24.
Courses
The course schedule and first tee time is as follows:
- Mon 3/27 Pine Lakes (1:06pm)
- Tue 3/28 Myrtlewood Pine Hills (12:30pm)
- Wed 3/29 Kings North (9:02am)
- Thur 3/30 Founders Club (8:56am)
- Fri 3/31 Burning Ridge (9:04am) (Burning Ridge is in Conway, 25 minutes from the Airport, last tee time that day will be around 10am.)
Pre-Practice Round
Similar to last year, we will arrange that separately for Sun 3/26, so it will not be part of the Package and there will be no room at Bali Bay on Sat night 3/25.
